  Topic: Stuart Hall's Representation Theory 12-1-2020 Representation is a way to give certain meanings to media, which can influence the audience and create stereotypes. The movie Frozen was seen to be given a lot of hate because the media portrayed it as a very unsatisfying movie with an annoying song that everyone keeps singing. The media was unsatisfied because of the number of people continuously singing the catchiest song in the film, which causes an earworm. The media also gave the point that the movie would have been a lot better if Elsa was the villain and not Hans, which made the audience start disliking the movie because of that one little detail that the media put out there. Another thing that the media put out is that Frozen is like the icy version of the movie tangled. That made everyone give even more hate to the movie because of those details that were pointed out by Disney watchers.   What does the political ideologies of your given symbol say about the current political system of America? Use S.E.E to respond to the discussion. Please note we will be meeting on Wednesday to discuss more.  The political ideologies that my given symbol shows are that the people decide who they want to lead and protect them. The U.S. political system lets its people settle the type of leader they want to govern them- and it's most likely a person with a face and a righteous moral. The image shows Harvey Dent holding a badge that says "I believe in Harvey Dent" it shows that he is one of the candidates for some sort of upcoming election, and compared to the other symbols, he is the only one showing his face.
